Capone's Kitchen - Drop of Doom VR - Macho Nacho - and more!

Six Flags Great America Snapchat

Well it looks like Six Flags Great America changed their mind last minute. In a recent Snapchat, the park posted a picture of the inside of Capone's Kitchen. I will tell you that I was not a huge fan of the name Falcone's, and think that is is a much more appropriate name. I really hope they take advantage of the name and are able to pull off some nice theming on the inside. In the picture, it looks like they have completely gutted it and are giving the inside a refresh. At this point, we do not know what this location will serve.

Six Flags Great America surprised us on the 22nd when it announced Virtual Reality for Giant Drop. It will be called Drop of Doom and will be themed to spiders. I think they are missing a fantastic opportunity of naming it Arachnophobia. I will cut to the chase and say that I am not a fan VR. It slows down wait and load times and is really unreliable. Last year, on Demon, it seemed to only work about half the time. At this point, I am glad it is only until Memorial Day so things can get back to normal. I will probably to it once or twice, and then skip the VR.

Six Flags Great America also post a few pictures of their new offerings for Macho Nacho: Street Tacos! From the photos, the food definitely looks promising. It mentions options of chicken, pork, and steak in some different dishes. Hopefully we find out soon what other new things are offered on the Dining Pass this year.

Finally, Great America posted a picture of the new paint job of The Lobster. The cars appear to be next to their new home. In my opinion, they look fantastic! The gold trim on the black is so much better than the East River Crawler paint job. The last think we can hope for is the lobster imprinted in the cement under the ride. That Sneak Preview Weekend can't come soon enough!

I'll ketchup with you later!
